Note: Visa application will not be accepted at any of the visa center in case of any error in the visa application form . With effect from 04th Nov’24 , we are informing all applicants that No handwritten forms will be acceptable therefore you are kindly requested to take the print out of the same post filling all details online from your side.

A Schengen visa is an authorisation issued by a Schengen state that allows travellers to enter the Schengen area for:

  • Intended short stays in or transit through the territory of a Schengen state (short stay visa) transit through the international transit areas of airports of the Schengen states (airport transit visa)
  • Short stays are stays of no more than 90 days within any 180-day period.
Tourist Visa

This category of visa caters for people wishing to stay in Spain for a period maximum 3 months and may be applied if the person does not have a guarantor in Spain and buys a tour in a travel agency, or make a booking of tickets and hotel.
Applicant will have to provide evidence that he/she falls under this category

Business Visa

This category of visa caters for people wishing to stay in Spain for a period maximum 3 months for business purposes (to sign the contract etc) but does not allow to carry out the professional activity.
Applicant will have to provide evidence that he/she falls under this category.

Airport Transit Visa

An airport transit visa is applicable for applicants who are just transiting the Schengen territory and will not leave the transit area of the airport.

Transit Visa for Seamen

Visa for Seamen allows you to stay a maximum of five days in the Schengen area, prior to travelling onwards to a country located outside the borders of the Schengen area.

Relative of EEA/EU Citizens

If you wish to visit Spain for a short period of time (less than 90 days), you must obtain a Short Term visa.

Important Information

This is to inform all applicants to carefully read below possibilities who are applying /submitting their visa application under Family Member of Family Member of EEA/EU Citizens:

Option A : Applicants can submit their visa application directly at Consular Section ,Delhi post taking prior appointment by sending an email on emb.nuevadelhi.vis@maec.es .

Option B : Applicants can also submit their visa application at BLS visa application centre by taking prior Appoinment through book_appointment however please make a note that BLS service charge of 1537 INR per applicant will be applicable.

KINDLY NOTE THAT THE APPLICANT SHOULD BE A RESIDENT OF THE SAID JURISDICTION FOR AT LEAST A PERIOD OF SIX MONTHS.

The consular jurisdiction of the Embassy of Spain in New Delhi includes Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Sri Lanka and a number of States and Union Territories of India: Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Nagaland, Punjab, Bihar, Meghalaya, Chandigarh, Jharkhand, Manipur, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Tripura, Haryana, Odisha, Mizoram, Delhi NCR, Sikkim, Lakshadweep Island, Rajasthan, Ladakh, Assam, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

The consular jurisdiction of the Consulate General of Spain in Mumbai includes: Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Union Territories of India: Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, and Puducherry.

The place of issue of a passport or the permanent resident mentioned in the passport does not determine the jurisdiction but it is the current place where an applicant resides for the past 6 months that determines whether he/she belongs to a specific jurisdiction. Please note that visa applications cannot be processed from applicants (including Indian nationals) not permanently residing in India. Those visiting India and wishing to go to Spain from India - even on their way back to their country of residence - need to apply for their Schengen visa before departing from the relevant Consulate of their country of residence.

Note: Schengen visa price for Nationals from Gambia above 12 years old is INR 10552 /-

Applicants for whom, the visa fee is waived (BLS fee only waived for children under six years):

  1. 1. Children under six years
  2. 2. School pupils, students, postgraduate students and accompanying teachers who undertake stays for the purpose of study or educational training
  3. 3. Researchers as defined in Article 3(2) of Council Directive (EU) 2016/801 from third countries travelling for the purpose of carrying out scientific research or participating in a seminar or conference
  4. 4. Representatives of non-profit organizations aged 25 years or less participating in seminars, conferences, sports, cultural or educational events organised by non-profit organisations.
BLS International Service charge

Applicants applying at the Spanish visa application Centre shall be levied a service charge of INR 1537 /- for Mumbai and INR 1537/- for New Delhi (Inclusive of 18% GST) payable in cash. Children under 6 are exempted from service charge.

The above mentioned Visa fee and BLS service charge can be paid in the form of Cash / Demand Draft's.

Please Note:
  • In case of online transaction (RTGS / NEFT and IMPS) applicant has to bring proof of payment made while submitting application.
  • Demand Draft should be under name of “BLS International Services Ltd Spain Visa” payable at Delhi / Mumbai (as per applicant submission centre)
  • The applicable Visa Fee in Indian Rupees is as per the current exchange rate. It is subject to change without notice
  • The fee is non-refundable

Travel Insurance is mandatory for travelling to Spain. You may get your travel insurance from any authorized insurance company or from the below two options.

Photo Specifications

Note: We regret we cannot accept photographs that do not meet these requirements

Please provide one recent photograph (not more than 6 months old) of yourself, which should not have been used previously in the passport. The photograph should be in colour and:

  • Taken against a light background (white or off-white) so that features are distinguishable and contrast against the background.
  • Clear share quality and with the face in focus.
  • Printed on normal photographic paper (camera print).
  • Full face, non-smiling [without sunglasses, a hat/cap or other head covering, unless the applicant wears such items because of their religious belief or ethnic background]
  • Please stick the Photograph on the Visa Application Form.

Note: Please follow these instructions carefully. If photographs presented do not meet these requirements your application will be considered incomplete. A photo booth meeting these requirements is available at the centre..

Applications accepted at the Spain Visa Application Centre will be submitted on the next working day at the Embassy of Spain/Consulate General of Spain. For BLS application Centers other than Mumbai or Delhi, it would take around 2 - 4 days for the application to reach the Embassy or Consulate post submission provided.Once the application has been submitted, the applicant can be further requested additional documentation in support of the same.

You can apply for a Spanish Schengen visa up to 6 months before your planned trip.

Note: Application form has to be signed by Blue pen only.

Visa application centers falls under Embassy Jurisdiction will only accept online filled visa application form for all visa categories therefore all applicants are requested to fill correct information in all fields .
